Saturday

Beautiful start to our drive (Virginia)!

Watching a movie before lunch.

We made it to Frankfort, Mi around 7pm.

Sunday

Father's Day

Gave my Dad and Keith their Father Day gifts, went to Mass then enjoyed a beautiful day at beach!

Monday

 Had a great time on Platte River.

Grady paddled his own kayak the whole time.  

Reece sat with Keith and I in a canoe, then helped Papa paddle his kayak.

The boys and I watched part of the USA game.  Keith wore his new US practice jersey we got him for Father's Day.

Went to the post office, then to the drug store (the 5 and dime is closed) for the boys to spend there money from Aunt Sharon and Uncle Karl.   Grady bought a sand castle wall mold and Reece got a pack of Army men.

Tuesday

Raining Day, stayed inside playing games.

A&W for lunch!! Root beer floats and sprite floats

The boys went kayaking with Grandma & Aunt Lucy after Supper.

Wednesday

Rained on and off today.

Walked to get donuts for breakfast, we bought Reece some tree nut free ones at the grocery the day before.

Biked to Crystal Lake with the family.  Grady did the whole 10 mile bike ride, Reece rode in the trailer.

Went to see our 1st Drive-in movie at the Cherry Hut Drive-In.  

We saw How to Train your Dragon 2!  Since the sun does not set till after 9:30 and does not get dark till much later the movie started at 10:30, it was a late night but we all had a great time.

Thursday

Went to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes.

Both boys went to the top with Keith.

After the dunes we went to the Platte River to skip stones.  

Walked to Lighthouse after supper.

Friday

Another Rainy Day :( 

Had to drive to get donuts today

Then tried to go to Point Betsie Lighthouse during a break in the rain, but did not make it :( 

So we decided to go back to A&W for more floats and milkshakes.  

We tried to watch the sunset then we bathed the boys and got in the truck to head home.

Keith took off work and we went to Grand Isle for the weekend.

Saturday

We went to Sureway to buy the boys fishing poles.

It was raining to much today for the boys to go out fishing.

Grady drew a picture of him driving a boat, dad fishing with Reece and Audrey. They caught two red fish.  Yes that is a fire breathing dragon!!

Hung out at home.

Then we went to Jody's house for supper and to hang out with Adam, Rachel, Audrey and Kyle.  

Sunday

Mom can you turn your head around and around like lego people?

We went to early Mass then to Brunch at our friends house.  

Monday

Driving to Kemah, Tx for Keith's business trip. The boys and I are tagging along to visit with the Jacobs and have a mini vacation.  Liz and Jim invited us over for supper at their house tonight.

Tuesday

The boys and I went to the NASA Space Center.

Then we went the to pool at the hotel, Reece fell asleep outside at the pool.  After the swim and nap the boys and I went to eat supper and spend the night at the Liz and Jim's.  

Wednesday

Liz took the day off work today and we brought the boys (Grady, Reece and Trey) to a water park in Baytown.  

We had a wonderful time.

Thursday

We spent the day at the amusement park at our hotel (Kemah Boardwalk).  We had wonderful pizza for lunch at the Pizza Oven.  Then we went on some more rides but it was so hot after lunch that we decided to get ice cream and go back to the hotel room to cool off.

After Keith was done with work, we went on some more rides before supper.  Liz and Trey meet us for supper at a Mexican restaurant at the Boardwalk.

The boys went on a couple more rides after supper.  Then they played in the dancing water fountains while we listened to music at Rock the Dock (a Thursday summer concert series).

Friday

Seabrook Waffle Company for Breakfast!! They make Liege waffle is a denser, sweeter, and chewier waffle. Oh my gosh they are amazing!

Then we went to Ikea (yes it is out of the way but I really wanted to go) before we headed back home.  

Insta-Friday - Frankfort

Saturday (June 15)

We left the house at 3am Saturday morning, drove straight though and got to Frankfort around 10:30pm.  The boys did awesome.

Sunday

It was a little cool and foggy, but we had a wonderful day hang out at the beach.

Monday

Playing on the way to the Post Office.  We enjoyed all the mail we received.

Grady bought a smoke bomb at the dime store after he had everyone help him make a huge volcano!!

Tuesday
Grady went on a bike ride this morning with Grandma & Aunt Lucy.  Reece rode his bike around the condos.
We went to get our daily donuts, flew kites, played in the sand.
Went to Point Betsie, played sand soccer and Grady took a sunset Kayak trip with Grandma & Aunt Lucy (paddling the kayak for the first time by himself).

Wednesday

Keith took a 6.5mile run this morning.

After lunch we biked to Crystal Lake 15.5miles round trip. 

Had supper at A & W and the boys had root beer floats!

We also sang Happy Birthday to Aunt Stephanie.  

Thursday

We went to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes then played in Platte River!

We had a sunset Campfire and S'Mores.  Then we lit the Sky lanterns we bought at the 5 and Dime.

Friday

We had a lazy day hanging out on the beach.  Our whole family went kayaking with Papa.

We had Ice cream after supper, then watched the sunset.

After Sunset we bathed the boys and packed up to truck to start our drive home around 10:30pm.  

We had a wonderful week hanging out with the family.  I love the laid back, easy going vacation that Frankfort provides.

Everyone walked to town to get FREE Ice Cream for the Father's on Father's Day

 Monday
I took a 6am walk every morning with my mom and Aunt Lucy.  It was a great way to start the day and get my exercise in.   It started raining on our morning walk, but it cleared up. We played in the sand and near the water.

Walked to town to get mail at post office.  Thanks for sending us mail Tiptons, Aronlds, Austins and Grandma & Grandpa.

Tuesday
It was a little cloudy and overcast.  So we stayed near the condo.

Then decided it would be a good day for lunch at A&W Root beer.

Grady's 1st time kayaking.  He was very quickly tied off to Aunt Lucy's kayak.  Grady had so much fun.

 Wednesday
Making sand castles.  I went kayaking with Grady, Aunt Lucy and my mom... it was a very choppy and winding day.

That night we had Pizza at Crystal Lake (they had a big sign about NOT swimming in Crystal Lake b/c of Swimmer Itch)  then went to Point Betsie to find rocks and for a campfire.

It was so windy the waves were covering the rocks and we were getting sand blasted... so we loaded the firewood back in the truck and would try again another day.

Thursday
The boys got to watch them leveling out the sand from the winter.

Grady went up and down...

before Reece made it up for the first time.

And Again...

And Again... We think we went up and down 8 or 9 times

Then we took a scenic drive thru Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and went to a really cool look-out. 

After that we went to the Platte River, but they were treating the water for eels?? (does anyone remember what it was).  The water was yellow from treatment and it said you could swim in it but not to ingest it. We decided we would all stay out of the water.

That night we walked out to the lighthouse.

Then had the campfire on the beach near the condo.

Friday
Grady had walked to get donuts almost everyday we were in Frankfort with different people each day, but today I got to go for the first time.

Grady, Papa, Keith, Reece and I went kayaking before lunch.

We went back to  Point Betsie and it was PERFECT!!

Friday we had the boys in bed by 8pm, to get ready for 3am departure.
(they had been going to bed around 10pm or later the whole trip, b/c it stays light out so late and we were all having fun)

We had a wonderful trip.  This is the perfect place for the boys and it is still relaxing for us.
