New Years Eve!!

 Our friends Chris, Jessica and their daughter Sophia came over New Years Eve.  We grill steaks, veggies and had baked potatoes.   We bathed the kids and put the little ones to bed (Sophia slept in our room in a pack n play).  

We let Grady stay up to look for fireworks and play PS3 move with us.  Then at 9:30pm Grady was getting really tired so we had a new years toast/"cheers" with him and he went straight to sleep.   We played Texas Holdem and watched our friend Kevin shoot fireworks from our backyard (he lives on the other side of the lake from us).  It was a wonderful night and even better because we did not have to play for babysitters :)

Wednesday December 22

Making Christmas cookies

 My sister, Stephanie, and her husband, Bogdan, came in town from Maryland and had planned to come hang out with us in Baton Rouge all day today.  We had to bring Grady to the Dr for a cough and mucus come out of his eye, he had some fluid in his ear and was put on antibiotics. While I was at the Dr I found out my brother woke up feeling bad, went to the ER and had a kidney stone.   They were still able to come that afternoon we went to dinner at Chimes and then to visit my Grandma O'Meara. 

  Thursday December 23

We went to Mandeville to have an Early Christmas with Stephanie and Bogdan since they were heading back to Maryland tomorrow afternoon.  We exchanged gifts, had fried turkey for lunch and hung out till the boys bedtime.  We bathed the boys before we left my parents house and let them fall asleep in the car.

 Friday December 24

Christmas Eve

We decided we would go have beignets breakfast at Coffee Call.  But Reece had diarrhea, green runny nose and eye was swollen and full of mucus, so we went to the Dr and found out he had an ear infection.  We did go and pick up beignets but we ate them at home.  This was the first year I was not home for Christmas Eve, I was sad about missing my dads gumbo.  So we decided to have our friends Kevin, Andrea & McHugh and Troy & Allen over for seafood gumbo and then we decorated gingerbread houses (they were sprintz houses, b/c i did not have everything to make gingerbread.)     

 Saturday December 25

Christmas Day

Grady woke up two times in the middle of the night he came in our room asking for us to cover him up,  Santa had already come but I guess since it was dark he did not see the gifts under the tree.  But at 5:50am he came in our room and told me Santa left a fire truck.  Then I had to let him know that I thought Santa brought that for Reece.  We had a wonderful morning slowly opening gifts, Grady was so excited about everything even the apple and orange that Santa left his stocking. 

 We got dressed and went to Keith's parents house in Mandeville to celebrate Christmas with them.  

Then that night went to spend the night at my parents house and open gifts.  The boys were a little overwhelmed by getting so many gifts that day we decided to just go to bed and let them open the rest in the morning.  

 Sunday December 26

O'Meara Christmas
My Mom's family always celebrates Christmas the day after.  We had a wonderful time hanging out and visiting with them.  We missed Paul & Betsy and Stephaine & Bogdan.  

Monday December 27

We played with Grandma and Papa.  Then Keith and I went with a couple of the older O'Meara cousins for lunch.  After lunch they came to my parents house and we played Bocce.

We headed back to Baton Rouge Tuesday.
