Tried Boy!

Well today Grady walked (Yes I said WALKED, he is now walking everywhere) to his bedroom. I could hear him playing in there and then all of a sudden it was really quite in there. I went in his room to see what he was doing, the lights were out (he can't turn those on yet) and I could not see him. So I looked around, then looked harder. I found him laying on the floor with his pacifier about to fall asleep near the bookshelf. Poor baby was so tried that he went in his room and was falling asleep on the floor.

Grady Alexander is 1 year old!!

Weight: 19lbs 1 oz - below percentile 5
Length: 29 ½ ins – between percentile 25 and 50

Since the last update Keith and I ran in the Race for the Cure 5K (my family watched Grady at the finish line) and the Crescent City Classic 10K (Keith and I pushed Grady in the jogging stroller).

Grady got his 1st haircut on March 13th. We went to a place that specializes in children’s haircuts, then have cars and trucks that they sit in and TV’s playing movies right in front of them while they are getting their haircut. He did a great job; he did not care at all even with the clippers.

We took Grady to a St. Paddy's Day Parade in Baton Rouge on March 15. He also had a great 2nd Easter Crawfish Boil. He is really close to walking he will take a couple of steps between Keith and I, but will not do it alone yet.

Grady had a great 1st birthday and party. On his Birthday we celebrated at home. We had dinner, opened gifts and then we sang “Happy Birthday” and Grady had a cupcake. Well he loved the cupcake he ate it all pretty quickly. Afterwards he looked REALLY STUFFED, so we went for a walk with Grady lying down in his stroller to help him digest. When we got home he started to play and then about 15mins later he threw up. Poor baby he really was STUFFED.

Then Friday, Aunt Rachel and her mom (Jody) came over to help me ice all 72+ cupcakes and prep for the party. That night we went to Hooters to celebrate Grady’s 1st birthday with Aunt Rachel, Uncle Adam, Kevin & Andrea.

Saturday was Grady’s Birthday Party. We had a great time; most of our family was able to come plus some good friends and some playgroup friends. But this time Grady was a little cautious of the cake, it took him a while to take a bite, we let him play with it for a little bit then we took it away. No one wants to be sick at their Birthday Party. After the party we opened the gifts, Grady does not care at all about opening the gifts, but loves them once they are opened and taken out of all the packaging. He got some really cool toys and he is having fun playing with everything.
