Well at the end of June a older house came on the market that was 4 bedrooms, 3 bath and it had 2 living rooms and the price made would make our new mortgage payment equal or less to our payment now and we would have about 700 more sq/ft. The kitchen needed some work and half the house needed the wallpaper taken down and repainted and a couple other small things.
But before we could put an offer on the house we had to put our house on the market. Which means we needed to touch up paint in most rooms (b/c of Winston & Grady), pressure wash the patio, re-mulch beds, do a good spring cleaning and de clutter the office and pantry. That is what we did on 4th of July weekend. We quickly found out that we would not touch up any of the rooms because the paint on the walls had faded. So that project got a lot bigger. Luckily we got Mrs. Brenda to help us out with the spring cleaning.
The house was ready to show Thursday July 9 we had our first showing Friday the same day we left for a weekend in Grand Isle. Then we had a second showing on Monday (July 13) and they put an offer on our house. So we countered with a contingent that we would be able to purchase a house and then put a offer on the house we wanted in Zachary. The house in Zachary countered and then accepted another offer. This was all done by Thursday (July 16).
But since we got our asking price for our house we decided to try to expand our search. So we last weekend and this week we went to see 9 more house most of them were in Prairieville. We did find a 1 or 2 that would work, but we felt like we were just settling so Wednesday (July 22) we decided that we are NOT moving.
It has been a very LONG month and that is why I have not updated the blog. I have just been too physically and emotionally DRAINED. But we are happy to know that house was able to sell so quickly.
