forget the cookies just give me that batter

Well after making the cupcakes Monday night that I did not really like, i have been craving sweets.  So tonight i decided to try an old recipe for "forget the cookies just give me that batter" Chocolate Chip Cookies that is in a cookbook my Grandma and Grandpa O'Meara gave my sister and me a LONG time ago.

Oh man the batter was GREAT and so were the cookies.  I did not want to wait for the batter to be refrigerated for 1 hour so the cookies turned out a little flat but there were GREAT.
Keith's 53 day turnaround starts tomorrow he has to be there at 3am. So he went to bed right after we put Grady to bed.   Hopefully these 2 months go by quickly!

Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

While in line at LOWES this weekend I saw the cover of Martha Stewart Living, IRRESISTIBLE CUPCAKES!! I think most of yall know how much I lOVE cupcakes so I had to get the magazine.

I let Keith pick the first one to try.  He picked Chocolate Chip Cupcakes with chocolate chip frosting.  Oh man are they RICH.  The recipe said to serve immediately but man they were WAY to rich that way.  So Keith took them to work the next and left 2 at home for Grady and Me.  I had it for dessert tonight and it was not as rich but definitely not my favorite cupcake.

UPDATE: on big boy bed

The first night was wonderful. He only woke up that one time and he slept in till 8:00am.  I woke up to him knocking on his door.

Sunday he took a good nap in his bed after my soccer game.  His allergies have been acting up since after the soccer game.   So after being alseep for about 2 hours he woke up all stuffed up CRYING AND CRYING. We put some baby vicks on him and gave him some children's claritin... but would cry every time we left the room. So we had to do the cry it out thing and go in every 5, 5, 10 mins.  But the funny thing is that he never got out of the bed, he just laid in there and cried. Once we got him back to sleep about 11:30pm he did not wake up till 8:30am this morning!! YEAH!!  This morning he was talking and fussing when i went into get him he was just sitting on his bed waiting for me.

HAHA!! Well Guess who is knocking on his door RIGHT now, Grady!!  That was a nice 3 hour nap.  Ok what was I so worried about??

BIG BOY BED!!

Ok so here is the story!  I have been telling my friends and myself that I am not ready to put Grady in a big boy bed yet.  You read that right I am not ready, I was thinking that Grady would probably do good but I am just not ready to deal with it yet.

Well about a week ago I found out that Grady's crib was recalled.  I mean
completely recalled, they sent us an envelope and they want us to put all the bolts for the crib so NO one will be able to use the crib again and then they will send us a voucher for a new crib.  A friend told me that I could go buy a crib from Babies'r'us now and then when the voucher came in they will refund my credit card.  So today we went to just look and see what they had that matched Grady's dresser.  Well they had a perfect match and it was in stock, so we got it.

After Grady's nap we took apart his old crib and started to put together the new
crib and while looking at the directions we realized that the new crib can be used as a toddler bed.  I told Keith on that is nice to know but I am not ready for that yet.

We were almost done, we just needed to put one more side on this happens to be the side to leave off to make it a toddler bed.  And Keith said lets put the mattress on and see if Grady likes the toddler bed.  Well yes Grady liked it, he could now get in and out of his bed (well with the help of the foam step and ramp) on his own.  Keith finally (it took a while) convinced me that we should leave to side off and let Grady sleep in the BIG BOY BED.

We put a child proof door knob lock on the inside of Grady's door so he can not get out of his room without us.  And we started our first night with Grady in a BIG BOY BED!!  He went right to sleep and then about an hour later he started to fuss so I went in to check on him and he was laying on the floor in the middle of the room with his blanket.  I am not sure how long he had been there but I put him back in his bed and we have not heard another peep.

I am worried about what he is going to do in the middle of the night and then how he is going to do at nap time.
I will update yall on how it went tomorrow!! Wish us luck!!

Big Helper!!

Grady has really been a big help lately. He has started to help us set the table for dinner. He will get his big boy cup and put it on the table and then we will give him the silverware and he will put one in every body's place.

He is also really enjoying cooking and cleaning up in his kitchen while we are cooking and cleaning.

Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas with our families.

Steff and Bogdan came in from Maryland.  Check out Stephanie's Blog

This was Grady's 2nd Christmas.  He got a lot of wonderful gifts.  A Tonka dump truck, a play retro Kitchen, a tricycle, play food and dishes, games, books, and much more.  He also LOVED the apple from the bottom of his stocking, he took a bite right when we got it out and eat it for breakfast Christmas morning (this was his 1st time eat a apple whole).

O'Meara Christmas was fun always. It was really funny watching the Aunts and Uncles play Rock Band.

Saturday was our only lazy day while we were at my parents house.

Sunday we dropped off Steff and Bogdan at the airport then went to Morgan City to see the Marino's for Christmas.
